An Expression of Me

“Never be ashamed for being human.” These inspiring words were spoken to me by my teacher when I broke down crying during a sociology class in high school.

My dad is an amazing artist. My brother and I had art lessons at home when we were growing up.

Fast forward decades later. I became a teacher hoping to inspire others like I was as a child. When my husband and I started a family of our own the exciting, never-ending roller coaster ride of being a busy, working mother of two active children began.

One night I went to a Wine and Painting event with some other moms. It was invigorating to paint again! It rekindled the art flame within me. I bought canvases, paintbrushes, and paints of my own.

Whenever I can, I paint. Mostly abstract paintings, I paint my feelings. I usually don’t have much of a plan when I start a new piece, I just let the colors and my mood guide me. I paint experiences. I paint nature. I paint beauty. I paint happiness. I paint pain. I paint what I like.

This website began after I shared some of my art with a friend. He wanted me to share with others, too. So, I’m not going to be ashamed for being human. Or an artist. Or anything else. I’m me.
